Our keikis will not be able to afford to live in the place where they were born and raised.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: Trebuchet MS, Geneva;\">Our city and state lawmakers regularly sign on to <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiioceannews.com\/index.php\/2019\/06\/29\/demonizing-communities-for-fun-and-profit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">genocidal-like plans to scrub away certain demographics<\/a> to make room for the plans of the wealthy resulting in a kind of <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiioceannews.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/09\/our-legislature-has-created-a-humanitarian-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">home-grown humanitarian crisis<\/a> in the name of \"progress\" that\u00a0 benefits no one but the rich. These same lawmakers routinely approve legislation that the <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiioceannews.com\/index.php\/2022\/01\/16\/hawaiis-state-legislature-has-been-convicted-of-a-crime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Supreme Court has ruled illegal<\/a> while <strong><em>knowingly<\/em><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiioceannews.com\/index.php\/2021\/06\/30\/senator-moriwaki-signs-bill-that-creates-homelessness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passing legislation that creates still more homelessness<\/a> and dodging lawmaking that prevents them from blocking common-man access to the rulemaking process.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: Trebuchet MS, Geneva;\">There is <em><strong>NO<\/strong><\/em> Division of Power in Hawaii's government: it's all one big club.\u00a0 The so-called Ethics Commission has been a long-running joke in the islands (we filed an ethics complaint two years ago, they said they were working on it never to be heard from again), and the legislature, governor, attorney general, Lt. governor (part-time, in the case of Josh Green), mayor, city councilors and state court system are nothing more than a wink-nod hui that have each other's backs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kitv.com\/news\/local\/what-is-needed-to-cut-down-on-corruption-in-hawaii\/article_4b81bd5c-8fa5-11ec-8833-073e67c6d664.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hawaii's horrible oversight and enforcement is the laughing stock of the nation<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: Trebuchet MS, Geneva;\">\"It's a big club, and you ain't in it.\"\u00a0 Go ahead, file a UIPA request for sensitive, potentially incriminating government-held info and see what happens. \"Stonewall\" takes on a whole new meaning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Trebuchet MS, Geneva; font-size: 20px;\">Try to participate in the rulemaking process at the city and state levels and be prepared to spend huge amounts of personal time . . . and if you succeed in being heard, <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiioceannews.com\/index.php\/2019\/03\/03\/public_hearing_outrage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">you can be sure that you won't be taken seriously<\/a>.\u00a0 <em><strong>All by design<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: Trebuchet MS, Geneva;\">And you're about to vote for the same politicians who will double down on all of the above. Don't wonder about your keiki's future in Hawaii . . . their future will be on the mainland. This same theme plays out over and over again right into the present. Senator Moriwaki was caught red handed in the collusion with Underwood when she <a href=\"https:\/\/hawaiioceannews.com\/index.php\/2022\/01\/20\/an-accidental-email-blows-the-whistle-on-a-sketchy-back-door-collusion-between-a-senator-and-a-minor-dlnr-administrator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accidentally sent an email<\/a> to HON editor, Katherine Lindell that was intended for DoBOR Administrator, Underwood.\u00a0 Since then, the Ethics Commission, Attorney General's office, the Lt.
