Urgent Re-Post: Stealing Aloha . . . Hawaii Under Siege, The Documentary

Hawaii Ocean News Documentary: Privatizing Public Lands for Profit

Hawaii is Under Siege by a Government/Business Hui

Hawaii Ocean News is proud to re-release to Hawaii's post-pandemic community: "Stealing Aloha", a documentary.

With the release of the Covid-19 vaccine, we may be entering a post-pandemic era.   Despite our new awarenesses,  history is poised to repeat itself.  A pre-pandemic state of Hawaii leadership is about to restart its effort to resume its pre-pandemic agenda: legalize the privatization of public lands and assets, despite the outcry from the community.

In this new environment of post-pandemic community awareness, we will be tracking, in future articles, the leaders in our community who refuse to listen to the will of the people, posting pictures and video and disclosing every detail of their agenda.  We will be relentless in our tracking and disclosure efforts.  It is our staff's unanimous personal belief that it's time to get rid of the pre-pandemic, business-as-usual mentality that has landed us up where we are now.  The best way to do this is through an informed democratic process, voting those who are uninterested in the people's will out of office, and demanding the firing of those department heads and administrators who refuse to work with the community on finding intelligent solutions to our many challenges.  The leadership that was supposed to represent a government of, by, and for the people of Hawaii, has somehow lost its way.  Only the people of Hawaii can put them back on track.

In 1893, Hawaii saw the overthrow of its monarchy by colluding business interests and government representatives who wanted to control the island chain for the purpose of exploiting Hawaii's assets.   John L. Stevens, was nothing more than a diplomat, a "Minister of Hawaii", a representative from the U.S. on Hawaiian soil, who had no real power in Hawaii.  His close friends included businessmen Sanford Dole and Lorin Thurston, among others, who felt that the islands could yield lucrative returns for them in the pineapple and sugarcane industries.  And, for this purpose, behind closed doors and just out of sight, Stevens and his business friends plotted the overthrow of the Hawaiian government.  Stevens, through a deception, was able to convince the United States that he had a need for U.S. military forces in the islands, and it was with this military that he would force the abdication of Queen Liliuokalani and succeed, for his business friends, in gaining control of Hawaii.

History is repeating itself in 2021.  Over the past decade, there has been, just out of sight and behind closed doors, a hui comprised of for-profit interests and certain government representatives that has been plotting the privatization of public lands for the purpose of profit at the expense of the quality of life of the average resident here.

What is happening now is nothing less than a coup against the people of Hawaii -- a coup from the inside out.  The documentary pulls no punches, names names and cites illegal legislation aimed at taking public lands and handing them over to private interests.  In a truly shocking expose, Hawaii is waking up to the same kind of deception that John L. Stevens and his cronies used nearly 127 years ago.  Stand by, we're about to find out that we've learned nothing from history.
